        What is SpeakText?
        SpeakText is a text to speech application. It can call any speech engine compatible with Microsoft's Speech Application Programming Interface.
        Use SpeakText, you can let your computer to read aloud story to you, convert text to mp3 and then listen to story anywhere.

        About voice quality and language?
      The quality of pronunciation is determined by Text to Speech engine.
      There are some free Text to Speech engines, you can download and install them from through our website, but quality of these free Text to Speech engines is not very good.
      If you don't like these free Text to Speech engine's sound, I recommend you to choose Natural Voice on our website.

         How to change voice?

         How to listen to text on webpage?
        When you use Internet Explorer 5.0 (or higher version) to read news on the Internet, after installing SpeakText, there are three icons on your Internet Explorer's toolbar . You can listen to text on web page as following: 
1. Select text you want to listen to.
2. Click to speak text you have selected. Click to pause or resume speaking. Click to stop speaking.

 You can also select text you want to listen to. Right click. On the pop-up menu, select "Speak by SpeakText". 
Then these text you selected will be spoken. Look at the following illustration to be more clear:

         How to listen to text file(*.txt file) in explorer?
         In Explorer, choose any text file(*.txt file) you want to listen to, right-click, select "Speak by SpeakText" in the pop-up menu. Now enjoy your listening. For example, to listen to C:\Read\book2.txt, the screen will be like this:

        How to convert text to mp3, how to batch convert text files to mp3 files?
        1. Text to mp3
       
On SpeakText main interface, click "Convert" to convert text of textbox to mp3 file.

      Copy speaktext32.dot to one of the following folder:

      C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\STARTUP

     C:\WINDOWS\Application Data\Microsoft\Word\STARTUP

     If you installed SpeakText on C:\Program Files\speaktext, then speaktext32.dot is in C:\Program Files\speaktext\MSWordMacro

     Re-run MS Word, the icon will appear on MS Word Toolbar. Click first icon to read aloud MS Word document, click second icon to pause speaking, click third icon to stop speaking.

Copy speaktext1033.wpt to the first following folder,

          How to listen to OpenOffice Writer document?
     
  1, Run OpenOffice Writer, on main menu select "Tools" > "Macros" > "Organize Dialogs", this will open the "OpenOffice.org Basic Macros
            Organizer".
        2, On OpenOffice.org Basic Macros Organizer, click "Libraries" > Location: My Macros & Dialogs.
        3, Import C:\Program Files\speaktext\MSWordMacro\script.xlb.  Close OpenOffice.org Basic Macros Organizer.
        4,  On main menu select select "Tools" > "Customize" > "Toolbars" (standard) > "Add". On "Add Commands" interface expand branch
             left left  category "OpenOffice.org Macros" > "My Macros" > "speaktext" > "Module1"
        5, On Commands list, choose "SpeakDoc", "PauseOrResume" and "StopSpeak" to Add. Close "Add Commands" window.
        6, On "Customize" standard toolbar, you can see "SpeakDoc", "PauseOrResume", and "StopSpeak" three commands, Please begin to add these three command icons.
        7, Select "SpeakDoc", Click "Modify" > "Change Icon".
            On "Change Icon" window "Import" C:\Program Files\speaktext\OpenOfficeMacro\Speak.PNG
            Choose in the list of "Icons" then click "OK".
            Select "PauseOrResume", Click "Modify" > "Change Icon".
            On "Change Icon" window "Import" C:\Program Files\speaktext\OpenOfficeMacro\Pause.PNG
            Choose in the list of "Icons" then click "OK".
            Select "StopSpeak", Click "Modify" > "Change Icon".
            On "Change Icon" window "Import" C:\Program Files\speaktext\OpenOfficeMacro\Stop.PNG
            Choose in the list of "Icons" then click "OK".
        8, Click "OK" to close "Customize" window.

       Note : If there is no any text in OpenOffice Writer, Click on icons of SpeakText  may be encountered error messages.

          How to use clipboard to read aloud?
          Watching clipboard to read aloud is turn off default, turn on this function as the following

          How to slide read aloud words from a words list file?
         
On Main Menu of SpeakText click "Slide speak words" to open Slide speak words window:

        Select a words text files and then click Begin button, words in the text file will read aloud one by one.
You can use Notepad to create a words text file that one word occupies one line.

How to install Microsoft Lili - Chinese (China) Text to Speech engine onto your Windows Vista 32bit Edition?
 

    Step #1
    Copy folder zh-CHS to C:\Program Files\Common Files\SpeechEngines\Microsoft\TTS20
(Note: Windows Vista forbid copy any folder to the folder above, a good method is using Windows Vista PE Compact Disc to start your computer and then copy folder zh-CHS to the folder C:\Program Files\Common Files\SpeechEngines\Microsoft\TTS20
   Step #2
Double click file HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE.SOFTWARE.Classes.CLSID.44930F40-5EA2-4B9E-A12F-84A7C5E5338F.reg and
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE.SOFTWARE.Microsoft.Speech.Voices.Tokens.MS-Lili-2052-20-DSK.reg input relational imformation to Windows Vista Registry

Run SpeakText and select Microsoft Lili - Chinese (China) to read aloud Chinese

         How to uninstall SpeakText?
   
     Uninstalling is easy. Uninstalling SpeakText can be started through either of the following ways:
    1. Start -> Programs -> SpeakText -> Uninstall SpeakText
     2. Start -> Settings -> control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs, choose "SpeakText" and click "Add/Remove" button.
